I think of how I could feel a real kinship with alternative aesthetics when I discovered my love of musicians; presented by a generation that were parts of fading scenes I’m still catching up to and discovering.

I think that’s where so much of millennial culture got our splintered appreciation for the art we grew with.

I felt super isolated because I loved the Post-Hardcore elements and Alternative sensibilities of Emo, but felt repulsed by the super masculine Hardcore bros to one side and the hokey Pop Punks to the other side.
